Database Architects, Inc. is a California corporation that provides information technology products and services.

Our mission is to help customers to be more agile in responding to change.  To that end, we work with customers to improve information flows, enable lean development practices, and reduce the cost of change.  In the course of our consulting work, we have discovered unmet needs that we have developed into products.  Our Kalinda Software division develops and markets enterprise software products and solutions.  Our item:foo division is an open source project incubator.

Founded in 1983, Database Architects has grown from its origin as a strategy and project management consultancy into a technology innovator and an incubator for successful software products.  Database Architects operates two software divisions:

  • Kalinda Software develops, markets and supports software products for the IBM Series Z platform.   Best known for its OnLine Help, OnLine Notepad, OnLine Reference and Content Manager products for CICS DB2 and IDMS networks, Kalinda has recently announced its new Kalinda Circles suite to leverage the content OLR users have developed across Java, web and mobile platforms, providing a migration path forward from CICS to Java, web and mobile applications. Customers link forms applications to a shared system of engagement with Kalinda Software products.
  • Item:Foo develops, markets and supports software products for building rich web applications. Adding business analytics to customer interaction systems drives greater customer satisfaction, enables self service to blend well with personal contacts and opens doors to new business. Item:Foo is developing lean development tools to reduce the cost of building and using this new breed of applications.

Database Architects headquarters are at 1195 Park Avenue in Emeryville, California.
